About Us

Logo with a family of green-afro trees
Life Center Family Medicine is a traditional outpatient-only Family Practice with a wellness emphasis and holistic [mind-body-spirit] medicine approach. Our Mission is to provide quality, caring, and patient-centered healthcare using a multi-disciplinary approach to address the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of our patients. We will seek to provide access to health care for all — whether male or female, old or young, ill or well, rich or poor.
At Life Center Family Medicine, we consider the whole person — body, mind, spirit, and emotions — in the quest for optimal health and wellness. We believe that the whole person is made up of interdependent parts and if one part is not working properly, all the other parts will be affected. In the same way, the well-being of an individual is tied to the health of their relationships, their family and their community. Healing takes a team approach involving the patient and provider — our goal is to help our patients to find healing in a supportive and compassionate environment where they are seen as a unique person, not as a number or a disease.
One of the most exciting & unique things about Life Center Family Medicine is our mental health division. Our medical providers work closely with licensed counselors to care for patients and families who are affected physically, relationally, and emotionally by their illnesses. We encourage wellness by giving people the tools to better take care of themselves and to address the causes of their health concerns while alleviating the symptoms.

Your Visit

What to expect

In the front office, you will be greeted by Ashley or Melanie. Ashely joined our family not long after we opened is currently in college. Melanie is the Administrative Assistant Manager and can help you with billing or insurance concerns.

Once you are checked in, one of our Medical Assistants will call to the back and help prepare you for your visit. Heather, Sam, or Jennifer will take your vital signs, record your medical history, and document the concerns to be addressed at this appointment. Our Medical Assistant Manager, Angel, oversees this process to make sure things run smoothly and efficiently. All of our MAs assist with in office procedures and tests such as ECGs or injections. They are in charge of keeping our providers on time and will often be the ones to return your calls regarding medications, referrals, or test results.

Dr. Simpson or Dr. Hanley will see you. They both take their time and will listen to you and work with you to find a solution to what ails you. Claudia Hafer and Mandy Walker are our counselors – they see their own patients, but also work closely with the medical staff to support our patients who are struggling with mental and emotional challenges.

Behind the scenes, we have Debbie, another MA who is responsible for returning calls and coordinating care with pharmacies, home health agencies, and patient assistance programs. Bridget, a brand new mom, is our referral coordinator. Her job is to schedule outside tests like MRIs or CT scans as well as to schedule specialty appointments for our patients. Marsha, her mom, is our billing expert and handles insurance claims for the office. Finally, Steve is our financial director, compliance officer, and IT guru. He does an amazing job of keeping everything running in accordance with regulations.

If you need laboratory tests while in the office, you will see Virginia or Patricia. Our LabCorp phlebotomist (vampire), Mrs. Virginia, is the woman of many nicknames; our favorites are “One-Stick” and “The Child-Whisperer”. Patricia, who works for AEGIS, is our medication compliance technician. While these ladies do not work directly for our Practice, they are certainly part of our family and help to take great care of our patients.

Reviewing and filling in these forms before your first visit will help expidite the intake process. It would be helpful if you can get them to our office a day or 2 before your initial appointment.
